It took me a long, long time to grasp the basics. Thankfully, my lack of success didn’t scare me away from it permanently.
Today, I’m going to share 9 tips and tricks that will help you create content ideas, get more people to your website, and turn your new website visitors into followers and fans.
1. Lay the foundation with keyword research
When I started my first website, I had no clue what keyword research meant. For two years, I published article after article without doing any keyword research.
I wrote about topics that I enjoyed and thought other people would enjoy.
No one found them.
You need to create content that your website can (and should) rank for. Proper keyword research gives you info about topics, telling you how many people are searching the term each month, and how difficult it will be for your site to rank for the term.
This doesn’t mean every article needs to be based on keyword research. I write articles without paying attention to keyword research tools when I know the audience is interested in the topic, or it’s important to the customer journey.
