Here’s What I’m Doing to Get SEO Results In 2025

I’ve stopped nearly all of my Google searches in the past 12 months.

When I’m searching for information, I go to Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity before Google. If I want recent news, I go to social media. Google has become my last resort. Mostly because it’s an awful user experience compared to AI tools.

Sorting through links and ads, hoping they answer my question, is awful. I click on websites that bombard me with ads, email pop-ups, and cookie notices.

SEO is changing dramatically, and possibly dying a slow death.

The truth is somewhere in between the dramatic social media posts. It’s silly to believe that SEO isn’t changing, or that it’s a worthless investment.

Ryan Law from Ahrefs wrote a great article explaining why SEO is still the best marketing channel.

Despite my change in preference, most people still use Google as their primary search platform. Most people are still Googling to find information, products, and services.

I’m still increasing website traffic with SEO.
