Twitter Flagged My New Account as Spam

And I can’t do anything about it

I created a new Twitter account two weeks ago, and now I can’t use it.

For whatever reason, Twitter flagged my new account as spam, and I can’t do anything. They’ve locked me up without reading me my rights or giving me a court date. This is the message they send me when I try to tweet:

I haven’t received any emails or notifications from Twitter.

The only indication of my account being flagged is when I attempt to post a tweet. I first noticed the issue when I wasn’t able to “like” someone else’s tweet. At first I thought it was a glitch, but the problem has persisted for two weeks — since I created the account on January 15th.

I’m not sure what makes it look like “automated” and I can’t send a request or find anywhere to ask Twitter for help. I thought I did everything right.

  • I verified my email
  • I completed my profile
  • I verified my phone number
  • I used my real birth date
  • I followed some relevant pages

After two weeks, I can’t post any tweets, like or reply to any tweets, or follow any new accounts. I’m was falsely accused of automating Twitter — whatever that means — and now I’m stuck in a Twitter jail cell for an undisclosed amount of time.

When you think about it, a robot asking humans if they’re humans is a bit silly. Like you’re a robot, stop questioning my humanity.

Twitter is also sending people this friendly warning when they view my account.

I didn’t get any warnings from Twitter, I only found this when I tried searching for this new account and couldn’t find it. I had to paste the profile URL directly in my browser to get this to show up. Twitter is going above and beyond to hide my new account from the world.
