You Can Use ChatGPT For Keyword Research - Here’s How

I’ve been exploring all of the possible ways to use ChatGPT for SEO.

Two of the SEO tasks that I wouldn’t use GPT, or other AI tools for are writing long-form content, and keyword research. AI writing tools can help create good content, but a decent human writer is still better than AI.

The problem with using AI tools for keyword research is that they don’t have any of the keyword data. ChatGPT can’t give me any accurate stats about keywords like Ahrefs or Semrush does.

Even though Ahrefs isn’t 100% accurate, their educated guesses about search volume and keyword difficulty are better than what GPT has — nothing.

I read a popular article on Search Engine Land about using ChatGPT for keyword research.

I wasn’t impressed.

They got a long list of random keywords related to the topic they asked about. The article shares various prompts you can use to get lists of potential keywords.

I’ve seen that plenty of times.

I wouldn’t call that keyword research.

Just like typing your topic into Ahrefs and getting a list of keywords isn’t keyword research. You need to understand search intent, and look at the actual search results before deciding if a keyword is…
