Good cold outreach is one of the best ways to build a new business.

It’s not easy, but it works.

Cold outreach should be one of your go-to prospecting methods if you’re building a new business or starting your freelancing journey. You don’t need to spend thousands on ads, or wait months for your organic marketing machine to warm up.

If you send out enough cold messages, it’ll be hard to not find a new client.

The first mistake that people make is giving up too quickly.

They start off beaming with excitement and send off 20 DMs on Twitter.

A few days later: 0 responses.

Cold outreach doesn’t work!!

No, no. It does work. It works when you work.

Try sending 200 DMs or 300 emails.

If you’ve got something that you know is valuable, someone is going to respond to you. If what you’re selling is worthless, then find something else to sell.

What do people do when they get your DM?

You might hear people say they don’t check their DMs. That’s not most people. I’d guess that 95% of people are checking their DMs…
