I started my mobile car detailing business 11 months ago. Things got off to a decent start, and I created offers and ads that brought me consistent new customers.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

There were a few simple things I could’ve done to grow my business faster, build more momentum, convert more leads, and get more repeat customers. I could’ve avoided those weeks when I made $0.

I’m going to share 5 things that would’ve helped my side business grow even faster in the first year.

I focused on opportunities that don’t require a ton of time or money. Starting a new business or side hustle gives you enough to worry about, so these small improvements should be relatively easy to implement.

1. Copy people 3 steps ahead

I knew there was a learning curve when I started my detailing business. I needed to figure out the basic equipment, detailing processes, and how to get my first customers.

I wanted to start quickly, so I opened up Spotify and searched “car detailing podcasts”. I found some episodes for beginners and took notes as I listened. They were all very helpful, and I felt like I had enough info to get started. If I ran into roadblocks, I could find more specific…
